Looks like August 5 will be my day to move. I'll be the last of the three of us to move in. Yesterday was Jason's day to move in.

Jason's moving plan was something like this. Pick up the U-Haul at 7:30am. Start loading at 8am. Finish loading at 10:30am. Finish unloading at noon.

In reality it went something like this.

Woke up at 7:45am. Called eachother and complained how early it was. Went back to sleep. Picked up the U-Haul at 8:45am. Picked up the donuts at 9:00am.

Started packing at 9:30am. Realized the U-Haul was too small at 11:00am. Resigned to making two trips at 11:30am.

Finished unloading first trip at 1:00pm. Picked up pizza at 2:00pm.

Finished packing second trip at 2:45pm, except for the "loose" non-boxed stuff. Finished unpacking second trip at 3:30pm. Returned U-Haul at 3:45pm - one hour past our alotted time.

Finished moving the "loose" stuff via car at 9:00pm. Then realized we completely forgot to move the bathroom and the bedroom closet *sigh*.

Although I'm not formally living at Casa Real yet (that's the name of the complex), I did drop in tonight to use the pool. I was very surprised to see some of the residents having a bbq dinner poolside. They were all very friendly people. Sorry, mom - no cute single young women among them. Melrose Place it isn't. Nonetheless, I appreciated their friendliness, and indulged in the pork ribs.

I think I'll enjoy living at Casa Real.

Funny :-) *smiling*

Well I hope your moving day moves more as planned :-)

Maybe you will be organized? Will you have more room now?
Eric
Yep, my last move was mostly painless as it was well organized. I plan to have everything nicely packed and ready to move when the day comes.

As for the room, it's larger than my current room, has more closet space, and a more spacious bathroom although the 1973 motif may need some retooling, or a sledgehammer, or something.
