Just about 7pm tonight, my manager strolls into my office. In true Bill Lumbergh form, he took a pretensful short breath.

"Eric, how's it going?"

It would have been really funny if he had continued

"I'm gonna need you to come in on Saturday. Yeeeaaaahhhh. And while you're at it, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Sunday, too."

That didn't happen. Something better did. My manager promised me the holy grail of every office building. Yep, that's right. I'm moving into a window office! It gets better. I'm also getting a laptop!

What's more, the chip-and-putt opened up last week at work. Just outside my office building, we've now got an awesome golf green complete with sand traps and stuff. I joked with my project manager that there's no way I'll ever finish my current project - with foosball, pool tables, ping pong tables, and now a putting green, there won't be any time left in the working day to write code.

My project manager let out a small courtesy laugh; I could tell he didn't think it was funny.

Enjoy the window office! That is awesome!! Do you really have foosball, pool tables, and ping pong tables already?? I think all companies need to adopt your companies views on work vs play!!

At least you got a courtesy laugh. :)

Congratulations! Does NetApp have a wireless LAN?

3 foosball tables, 1 pool table, 3 ping pong tables, 2 air hockey tables, 1 Galaga arcade-style booth, 1 Dreamcast, 1 pitch-and-putt golf hole (8 more to come), 1 sand volleyball pit, and other things I am forgetting at the moment.
"Does NetApp have a wireless LAN?"
Yep! Perhaps I can toss out the office chair and desk and instead bring in some patio furniture.

They put those games in your office so you'll NEVER GO HOME! :)
