The US government granted a license today to Scaled Composites: U.S. Awards First Suborbital Aircraft License. The license allows Scaled Composites to launch into space from California.

Scaled Composites hopes to claim the $10 million prize awarded to the first private company that launches tourists into space.

The article does not state when Scaled Composites will launch. Though if they hope to win the $10 million they have to beat the Canadian da Vinci Space Project team, who aim to launch this summer.
