Replying to my own post...

There's the perfect place to relax on the beach. Those pictures are terrific but they just don't do justice.

In the second pic in the background you see where the beach continues behind me, where there is a small rise of sand maybe 3 feet tall? It's quite hard to get to. So that even on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, when all the beaches in the Bay Area are frothing with people, almost nobody knows it's there.

That sandy rise is around a rocky submersion that is passable only when waves roll out. If you wait for the waves to recede, you can run around that corner to the sandy rise.

The sandy rise is just high enough to keep high tide out on the sides, and there's the rockey barrier to keep the waves out on the front. So that's where we set up our bbq.

Later, a young (baby?) seal decided to set up camp about 50 feet from our bbq site. You see him in the first picture.

Looks perfect. Best use of a Weber I've ever seen.
Mom
Wow, makes me wish I were there. Tim says that is a baby Harbor Seal. Sigh...
Stacey —
Looks fun! You'd never be able to do that in Galveston.
Ngan —
Pictures turned out pretty well considering your phone is a decade old!!!

Nice pics.
Just a reminder, don't miss US-Mexico soccer final on Sunday 24th at 12 PM.
Eric —
Ugh. Nuts. I forgot! Thanks for the reminder, though. Another victory for the US!
Lori —
LOVE the pics :-) Looks like good food too.
