Some of the old restaurants in Mountain View that had been around a long time, but didn't have a large number of customers, closed down some months ago. I'm guessing as an indirect result of the Google boom the owners jacked up the rent on the tenants.

At any rate, new restaurants are filling in the vacancies. We've gotten quite a few new restaurants in Mountain View as of late. One of them that I've grown fond if is Kauai BBQ Grill.

I tried the Mahi Mahi for $7 today. I'd say it compares favorably in portion and taste with The Fish Market. The difference being The Fish Market would charge $18 rather than $7.

Just during the four times I've visited Kauai BBQ Grill, they've had pretty good business. It's more of a take-out place, so it's hard to gauge. But the 20 or so seats in the place are generally full, and there's always a handful of people waiting for their to-go orders.

I hope the place sticks.

Also a new restaurant in Mountain View: Temptations Indian Chinese Fusion. I really have no idea how that sort of fusion would be possible!

What I'm really waiting on is the Icelandic-Mexican-Japanese fusion.

Ooh the Kauai BBQ grill sounds yummy!

Icelandic-Mexican-Japanese fusion...?? Yeah, I would like some raw fish in my burrito with extra sour cream please.
