It seems that just about once per year I make it out to Tahoe. This past weekend was this year's excursion. The excusion consisted of a couple people from work and friends of theirs, nine of us total.

I took a half day of work on Friday. We headed out about 1pm. The most noteworthy item on the drive to Tahoe was a scrolling gas super station marquee that read "Krispy Kreme" and scrolled to "Buffet." It wasn't clear if the super station had both Krispy Kreme and a buffet, or if the buffet was Krispy Kreme. There are a whole lot of truckers with clogged arteries, if it was the latter!

We arrived at our cabin about 5:30pm.

Saturday morning we woke up early. For software engineers early is 8am. Much to our astonishment, the sun was in fact up. The target of the day was Heavenly. I was expecting Heavenly to be packed. Typically, weekends are busy, plus the weekend looked to be one of the last ski-able weekends of the year. To me that equated to mad rush. Not so. Heavenly was perhaps half as busy as I had anticipated. Perhaps the beautiful weather back in the Bay Area convinced people to stay home.

Suffice to say Heavenly has awesome trails and I had an excellent day of snowboarding. Followed by an excellent night spent recovering in the hot tub.

Sunday morning we headed back to the Bay Area. The most noteworthy item during the drive being a Pumpkin Maze establishment.

G.Ma —
Eric: Sounds like a great time. It's beginning to look like Spring around here. Blue Bonnets, etc. blooming. Been reading your discussions. Took me awhile to catch on to the next day's msgs.
