It's good to be back in California. Back in California where the sunshine is limitless, the temperature moderate, and the humidity low.

My return flight from D.C. was not without snafu. My flight from D.C. to Phoenix was delayed on the tarmac for 45 minutes due to mechanical failure - the entire plane shut down after pulling away from the gate. To which the pilot announced unreassuringly, "Uhhh. We've lost all power."

The 45 minute delay was a tad worrisom for me as my layover in Phoenix was scheduled to be 50 minutes in length. The flight was scheduled to depart from Phoenix at 7:28.

The flight from D.C. arrived in Phoenix at 7:15, and taxid for a few minutes. I scurried out of the skyway at 7:20 and found my gate a minute later... and the plane was gone! I had resigned myself to catching a alter flight out. But then I noticed there were several people waiting around. I asked one of them about the flight, and he said it had been delayed by 15 minutes.

We boarded at 7:45. The plane taxid out to the runway. The pilot announced, "We're going to stay here for a while and let some thunderstorms pass by."

We sat on the tarmac for two more hours. Shortly after 9:30 we departed. 11:35 had me into San Jose.

Oh, well. It was fun to visit D.C. I'd love to go back.

Also, I discovered the Las Vegas airport has airport-wide free wireless internet! That was cool. San Jose's airport has wireless internet for a $9 fee. Washington Reagan airport does not have wireless internet as far as I could tell.

Flying isn't fun anymore. Hope you got rested up.

I bet you flew on Continental. They suck.
Mom
All of the airlines now suck...they have allot of nerve trying to sell us airline food for $5.00, (sandwiches and chips) on board. Give me a pound of bologna and a loaf of bread anyday. Love from Mom

When I was in washington last year, it was Alright. Seems like 50% of my travel is delayed. My last trip was okay, but the trip before that was delayed and I missed my connecting flight. I'm off to phoenix on labor day, probably will face a delay. ^_^

Well, I never seem to be delayed when I want to be. Like places I want to hang out in longer.. they never seem to offer me another flight because of a full flight.. but I have stayed stuck in a plane for over two hours while it sat still with no air conditioning.
